To some on the outside, Grilled Cheese Press is a bit of a mystery. From Facebook to Instagram to other social media accounts, Grilled Cheese Press is steadily putting out memes and other similar material.

Grilled Cheese Press, as it has come to be, is the engine that drives The Laughing Librarian. Think of Grilled Cheese Press as the publisher of The Laughing Librarian. The Laughing Librarian, brought to you by Grilled Cheese Press. Fitting, come to think of it. I registered Grilled Cheese Press as a publishing/marketing business last year.
That’s correct. Grilled Cheese Press is an actual registered business.
GCP started as an idea for a publishing business. One day almost two years ago I found myself discussing possible brand names with a dear friend and asking for suggestions, wondering if anything I had not considered for a name would stick well. The Laughing Librarian as a brand had some legal complications in regards to other existing entities. As not to create any possible confusion or trouble, I wanted to go in a different direction. Between the two of us in that brainstorming session, Grilled Cheese Press was. It clicked instantly. It’s open. Friendly. Inviting. Universal. The name itself invites a dopamine hug. After all, who doesn’t love grilled cheese? Almost every idea discussed led us to that name.
My friend deserves an enormous amount of thanks for tolerating me during that conversation, as no names were feeling just right for the new entity. She is deeply appreciated. While I can’t be certain whose idea Grilled Cheese Press was during the conversation, as we were going back and forth with thoughts like a jackrabbit ping-pong match that could rival an episode of Big Bang Theory where Sheldon is binge-thinking on 48 hours of no sleep, it is a perfect tribute to her courageous strength and vibrant spirit.
Now that it has built an online presence, it will be expanding. Nothing overwhelming, I’m not here to take over the Earth or to bring the penguin or the viking to their knees. I want control over my own material, especially since my material will be of interest to niche markets.

First, the content changes expected to come:
I’ve already been creating some how-to-draw videos made for my online students (I am also a tutor) and have found that this can be a valuable source for additional material in the process. I’ll start with some mostly educational on the whimsical and slightly humorous side of tutorials and expand from there. Done correctly and with a healthy sprinkle of Lowry’s Good Luck Seasoning, this could be the start of something fun. Let’s find out together.
Second, will there be books published:
Yes, eventually. There are some sample going, churns churning and coals heating up, and I must manage my time carefully balancing those. I’m not rushing myself. Hopefully the public is easily entertained.
Third, what else will I be selling (yes, there is monetization. Have you seen gas prices?) :
Nothing expensive. The rest is a surprise.
Fourth, should anyone come to me to publish their book:
Absolutely not!! I have no idea what I’m doing yet. Maybe Claude has some good advice for me, who knows.
Fifth and last:
Yes, there will still be memes! Have no fear.
